My company always speaks in metaphors; getting out of the box, the bleeding edge, the burning platform and pushing the envelope. Meanwhile they beat up the sales team and speak of infinite revenue and sales. They truly believe in this infinity deal.

So I asked if sales and marketing have infinite possibilities, then how can you push the envelope or live on the edge. If infinity exist then all points are the center point.

They were dumbfounded and I don't think I'll be promoted any time soon.

It was my Dilbert question that revealed the idiocy of management's metaphorical jargon.
