OT: Oh, please. I'm nominally a Democrat, at least until the Republican party manages to divorce itself from (a) religion, (b) gun nuts and (c) ruining the environment, but even so: thousands of US Troops die? Didn't we hear this last time around? Probably more like 30. Old oil company, blah blah blah. Yes, it's a crime the country isn't spending more to develop energy alternatives, but deficits? Ok, the economy is in the down part of the cycle-- you would have us what? raise taxes? reduce spending? that's a great way to prolong a recession. Revenues will rebound with the economic cycle. It just takes some time.
