One can't help but notice that the number of folk running around in flak jackets with heavy iron strapped to their hips is sure on the rise. Cops, troopers, sheriffs, customs officers, commercial pilots, narcs, alcohol busters, CIA, etc. And the list just keeps getting longer.

don't forget trader doods who post on the internet under the name of orkrious <seRIOUS dORK). I think the TL and EV that is beginning to sprout is going to cause an exponential rise in crime, so I got myself a CCW permit. <g>

From JPM research
For example, in 1997, global semiconductor industry revenues were $137 billion.
Following a full round trip, chip industry revenues were approximately $137 billion
again in 2002. However, there was $200 billion of capital deployed over that six year
period of time, and it generated nearly zero growth and mainly negative returns.
