Rosa glauca is a relative of the rugosa's, it's also found as Rosa rubrifolia. You don't have to let it get real big, you can cut it back and keep to 1/2 to 2/3 of that 7'x7' size. It make a great foil for silver foliage plants, yellow, pinks and lavenders...

scott
