Shack, while the 16 cent (annual) dividend is clearly crap, consider the fact that Mr. Gates owns 622mm shares, and Ballmer owns 235mm. by my math that is $100 million dollars of TAX FREE dividend income a year for Gates, and $40mm for Ballmer. i don't imagine that much more than that would be politically palatable. i mean, i can already hear Lieberman, Edwards, and Kerry going off about how Bush's dividend tax plan gave $100mm of tax free income to the richest man in the world.

i'm eyeing that MSFT shelf around 35 from later half of '97,

$17/18 per share post split, coincides with monthly 200ma

S&P should be at new lows, too much to ask for by end of March?
