Most of them are not done in sanitary clinics with trained personnel. Many of them are not only "illegal", but self-induced by those living in squallor and poverty--people making use of whatever is to hand of the right size or length--often sticks or wires. You apparently were not aware of this when you "tagged" my comment as "past its prime". I acknowledge that living in an affluent country tends to make people unaware of a great deal that goes on in the villages and camps of the world. If you want to believe that these abortions are done without pain, injury, or death...without any physical intrusiveness beyond magical herbs which turn all embryos and immature fetuses into water which is sweated out...then please do not allow my comments to disturb the contentment of your certainty. EDIT: I guess I should give you a smiley because I don't mean to hurt your feelings... :-)
