Lots of things happened from September 11. But I think the most important thing that should have been forthcoming from such a tragedy that today seems very lacking, is a greater dialogue between the Haves and the Have Nots. Does anyone not think the Have/Have Not thing didn't have any kind of influence on why 9/11 happened?

That's nuts. Unocal doesn't care who controls Afghanistan. They just need someone to keep the peace and sign agreements. The war there has prevented any pipeline from ever being built across that country IMO.
