LONDON & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2003-- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications for multinationals, today announced that it has been awarded a network services contract with ACAL plc. Infonet was selected for its ability to offer flexible and scalable solutions, on time and within budget.

ACAL required a network provider that could meet the needs of its rapidly expanding and evolving business. Infonet will address ACAL's objectives with a new network that will cover 24 sites in 11 countries, allowing the company to link a number of subsidiaries with a single global solution. This network will support ACAL's business critical applications and the transfer of information to its European data centre.

"We are confident that Infonet is the right network provider for our business," said Nick Rudge, Group IT director of ACAL. "Infonet was selected for the flexibility and scalability of their solution. We are delighted that Infonet's desire to understand and meet our requirements has been matched with an ability to meet deadlines and to stay within budget."

"We are working with ACAL to introduce a range of network features vital to its global business, most importantly the prioritisation of business critical applications," said Bill Brogdon, Infonet's Regional Vice President, EMEA. "As ACAL's business continues to expand, Infonet will provide the opportunity to grow the existing network and adopt new technologies."

In addition to providing global communications solutions, Infonet's network services will allow ACAL to extend its existing European data centre so that it can offer a global reach that will service the entire company.
