During the vietnam era, along with the crazies(both extreme left and extreme right) existed a period of intense high quality debate pro and con. There were teachins that were televised worlwide. Bill Bradley was a participant in one of these as i remember it. People got angry at each other but folks in the middle had facts to analyse. This weekend produced NONE of that. There is really no coherent opposition among opponents except Bush is a moron, Bush is promoting oil interests, Bush is getting even for his daddy, Bush wont admit that since UN cant find them, iraq has no wmds-- all stupid arguments in my opinion. Wheres the beef? Actually "the beef" rests on one word containment and that is a legit argument to have. mike

I fail to see why it's important that protestors against the policies of this administration should appear "reasonable" to passionate supporters of the Bushies

John, surely you are not suggesting that only passionate supporters of the Bushies support the interests of the US government?
