Arne't both of these pundits liberals?

Who said liberals have to agree on very much at all.

Cockburn is one of the more acidic writers in captivity. I certainly wouldn't ride to a demonstration with him. Just to stay in this line of thought.

Cockburn and Hitchens were in a "forever" fight in The Nation in which neither was the "good" guy. Both were vicious. You just knew if you wished to get into their verbal brawls, you best crank up your polemical skills.

As for Corn, I've not read much of his stuff. I skimmed a book he did on the CIA which was sort of interesting.

You should know there is a very serious, very interesting debate in the pages of The Nation and other magazines of like political persuasion about ANSWER. Who is it? What are its motives? Should one participate in demonstrations organized by it? Etc.
