John,
As you can tell i ramble alot and you can barely resist rambling back. I need a break anyway from that part of our dialogue. I have a question for you though.
If you were President, how would you contain Iraq, not now after the threat of war has already been made, (which you wouldnt have done), but before but post 9/11. How would you have handled that part of the Mideast issue? No israel or palestine talk here either, lets keep that out of it. Other than the overuse and misuse of the word containment, I have not heard an alternate policy from anyone, anywhere going back to the beginning which i will date as post 9/11. Take your time and take your ulcer meds--i dont think you can answer this one because no other policy could stop Saddam from getting to where he was going without force at some time in some place. I have racked my very small brain for months and cant answer this question. And just to prove my point further with Korea, i have many different scenarios for US policy that i think could work--but in iraq, other than saying containment, i cant find one reasonable alternative. Mike
