By and large I think that customer service is almost a lost cause when dealing with the mega-retail/service corporations that have evolved in the US of A. Used to be the corner store was run by an onsite owner. Customer service was important to his/her very survival. As the bureaucracies of large corporations have mushroomed customer service seems to have suffered.

Dell used to have a stellar customer service reputation...and they made decent computers also. Apparently they have slipped? I currently own a Dell and my experience has been a positive one. I have had no problems with the machine (almost a year old) but then again I can't really comment on their customer service since I've never had to use it.

This site...resellerratings.com seems to indicate that, according to their data, Dell is slipping in the customer satisfaction/customer service department.

On the other hand I personally have heard nothing but bad things about this retailer...mostly from the geek community. Yet their recent customer service rating at resellerratings.com is higher than Dells.

So? What's it all about Alfie? <g>

edit: I think your 3 to 19 theory has merit mr.mark...unfortunately I'm out of that loop..I don't have 19 friends to complain to.<gg>
