I agree....DELL is the best. The pricing differential is partly because of their system. I have found the best way around that system is to sign up as a small business owner on their small business site, ask for the email offers, and wait until an offer comes in for exactly what you want, heavily discounted. The last machine I bought that way from DELL would have cost me $400 more that exact same day from DELL's site if I entered it through the consumer side and didn't use the coupon (about two thirds of the price difference was not the coupon but the fact that they were packaging stuff together differently on the consumer side). If you are patient you can get a good price from them, maybe not the lowest anywhere but low enough for the quality they supply.

your right--i always heard good things about dell--and i thought i was getting a good deal
and i have no doubt that they do make a good machine but they really don't know how to treat there customers which i guess will eventually lead to there demise
i sent another email to michael dell and got 3 phone calls from someone last night-who told me they were going to make it right--but not because i was right but because they extended the offer--this woman was actually telling me that they were doing me a favor because i was not entitled to what i had called up to order because i ordered it a day early
maybe i'm old and crabby--but is that the way to treat a customer--what ever happened to the customer is always right?? i am not asking for anything except what i had specifically been offered in an ad

anyway--i finally got so pissed at her that i told her to forget it and credit my account
thats the end of the story--unfortunately i will never own a dell!!!!!!
