Kirk, I was wondering the same thing myself. The last time KLIC saw a pick up in orders the rest of the equipment companies did too. I sure would feel better about the potential for the market to return to bull market status if we could get the potential deleterious effect of a war with Iraq behind us. I think the threat of terrorism needs to be minimized. It continues to have tremendous market influence potential and it is slowing any recovery that may be underway both in the stock market and in the real world. That being said no one who has read this thread the last couple of years should minimize the fact that higher than expected KLIC orders has been a leading indicator of growing semiconductor equipment orders.

I believe this is a technology issue, not a capacity issue. I think I remember reading that the new Maxxam bonder is needed for more advanced chips.
