Because I think fomenting hate is wrong, and I think I have a responsibility to do more than look the other way. Would you feel the same way about someone calling war protestors "N's"? The word "nigger" is a word abstracted from the word "negro" and was used expressly to denigrate black fokes. That is why we recoil from it. it has a long history of oppression attached to it. That is just not true of the word "queer," which for centuries now has been used to describe strange behavior, ANY strange behavior or entity, amongst which is homosexuality. The word is valid and the way in which JLA used it does not necessarily reflect an attack on homosexuals.

Interesting. So insulting and harassing a GROUP is BAD. But insulting, harassing, and libeling an individual isn't? Because, Chriskisser, that is exactly the lesson to be taken from that SST fracas. It was OK with you when your boyfriend made endless sexual innuendos about and threw a continuous stream of insults at YYB, Poet, and E. But one crack by JLA deserves a hanging, eh? Hypocrite. Clearly you were gunning for him. Why didn't you strap on your six-shooter when that other war was waging? You want to deny what I said about you supporting him and attacking those who opposed him?
