<<I reject the view that the epithet “queer” is any more objectively obscene than Search’s repeated use of the word “racist”>>

So you equate gays and racists as equally detestable and obscene?

That's pathetic.

One thing Jews, gays and Blacks have in common is that they've all been persecuted for thousands of years by Christians.

Two of those groups are no longer suitable for use as epithets, one still is. Two down and one to go.

You're on the wrong side of history.

Steve

<<The same applies to the word “Jew” as an epithet. As civilized humans, that is a thing we ought not do. But the word “queer” does no such thing. It does not comment upon a truly human quality but rather a quality contrary to man.>>

What a queer use of words: "contrary to man." That's exactly what the New Testament says about Jews:

1 Thessalonians 2:13-16(KJV) – (13) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. (14) For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: (15) Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: (16) Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
