LOL! You are saying my statement that Israel doesn't want peace is "anti-Israeli"... well, perhaps it is anti-Israeli-gov't, but that doesn't make it "anti-Semetic" or some such. FWIW, I spent time on a kibbutz in Haifa and experienced life there first hand, so unless you are speaking as a member of the Israeli gov't, what exactly do you "resent"?

The fundamental issue in the post was independence from M.E. oil ... what do you think of that as an absolutely necessary "way out" for US FP?

Regardless of the "mercenary state" issue, it would mean inevitable reduction in Israeli support, since there would be less reason for presence there. Since Israel can destroy its neighbors many times over there's little military reason to be there.
