It has no obvious solution

It's what we always hear, and what they wish us to believe, and you may even be right, but

I've been in management a long time, and the cure when completely screwed in very large orgs is to start firing, at the top, not in the middle. Word gets around quick. The last reorg I was personally observed was 120,000 people, about 1/2 of whom did any real work. Reorg will happen when the goals are stated from the top, even if the org has to be dismantled and rebuilt, which will never be done w. existing execs in place, but is preferrable to the endless self-promoting disasters foisted on the US taxpayer/citizen.

Leadership is lacking, imo, which is what gets me in hot water here, but it's the case. The "leaders" have other agenda, completely separate from American citizen's interests.

BTW, this "loyalty" and daily briefings are a curse, not a blessing. This idea that contacts w. the Northern Alliance is worth anything is a joke.

The problems with the Intel org is not the people. It is the organization, the responsibility, and the accountability. You can't just "reorganize" All that gets you is "New Tree, Same Monkeys!" And you can't just fire everybody and start over. All that gets you is "New Monkeys, Same Tree!"

True for large organizations everywhere. Usually addressed by setting up a skunk works, so you have "New Tree, New Monkeys!" - somewhere else.
