CobaltBlue,

As for me, I try to keep my gas tank full, and we just had the fuel oil tank refilled, too. What else can we do?

Keep a bicycle handy, just in case??? <g>

Sheik Yamani [pronounce Shake Ya'money] is one of the people I admire. Have done for a couple of decades. He's a good bloke. A dinkum joker! <Jamani: I do not know. According to my information out of the middle east it is rather probable that he still has residues of his arsenal. I never have met a politician who would be so without scruples as he is.I had to negotiate with him quite frequently. he always behaved in an unpleasant, arrogant and provoking fashion. The dislike was probably mutual. The terrorist Carlos told now in the prison, that Saddam was indignant over the fact the terrorists did not shoot me during the OPEC assault in Vienna 1975, but let me go like other hostages. >

This is enough reason to attack and defeat Saddam. Then, there's all the rest.

I was disappointed when he was fired as Oil Minister from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia lost reputation with me then. Subsequent events have confirmed my opinions about Saudi Arabia. They shouldn't have fired him. He should have been made the boss.

Hey, I just thought, he'd be great to take over Iraq as UN Commissioner or something like that. Tell some of those Washington beltway people that he's our man. Seriously, he'd be excellent. I see they already call him excellency.

Hitler had two (essentially conflicting) manias: world supremacy (the race of supermen leading the lower-quality rest of the mankind into the future) and Jews ("all other races are 'minderwertig' to the Aryan but the Jewish is a race by itself").

When Hitler end of 42 realized, his mania #1 is shattered (the Moscow battle lost, 6th army at Stalingrad standing no chance, two-fronts situation) he went suicidal - he was anyhow from the very start). He declared war on US. And he gave a go-ahead for the final solution of the Jewish question (the world "Endlösung" still makes anybody who understands German, no to mention Germans themselves, freeze in tracks. See Wannsee conference ghwk.de.

Of course he eventually wanted to take everybody with him.
