I think we saw AMZN short-covering on Friday, not real buying interest.

So you think AMZN could double this yr, and that would disappoint the amzn longs, and even if amzn did double this yr, it would be a mkt laggard?

That's simply not true. The capex world was crumbling even before Sept 11 2001. Spending forecsts were being missed by a mile. Massive layoffs at tech equip co's were ongoing throught 2001. And it's just gotten worse since. The mess left over by the huge equity and debt bubble won't go away soon, Iraq or no Iraq. It's an extreme econ cycle that has to play out.
