Yiwu,
Why wouldnt china be a force for peace in the region? Perhaps that role would give China more respect. A Beijing conference for instance might be a great idea where US could sit down with SK, NK, Japan, and China to permanently solve Korean peninsula issues. Please keep in mind that there are 37,000 american troops in korea so we will be involved in any war. There would no need for china to immediately come to the defense of a corrupt regime that has little similarity at all to what china has become.
The Chinese should be pushing for collective security in the region imo. mike
