Denzel was very fine, although the whole cast was strong, and it would have been hard without Morgan Freeman as an anchor. I agree with you on Matthew Broderick, he was very good, and Andre Braugher as Thomas was, in some ways, the most moving character of all.........

ShilohCat:

Have you read Emilio's book "A Brave Black Regiment?" Many years ago, I acquired the book of one of the officer's from the regiment. He annotated the book and he described his experiences. There is a wonderful story that I can provide with it but it would take some time.

Anyway, the movie was good. There were some annoying flaws in it but some very nice accounts. The one flaw that bothered me was the attack on Fort Wagner. The movie portrayed it as an attack from north to south. Unfortunately, the attack was from south to north.
