Unfortunately I don't think the smart bombs are that smart. It depends on how smart the generals are. I hope the rumoured 400 cruise missile a day plan is not going to unfold.

When I said US has the opportunity to come out of it smelling of roses, I am aware they also have the opportunity to inflict a hundred WTCs on the Iraqi population. Which in fact, is pretty much what they, with our help, did last time.

I see today Saddam's son and also his foreign minister have started making threats recently. One such threat was to attack Kuwait. When Saddam came to power he was booted out and had to have a second go. He then said if he was forced out again, Iraq would be a charred landscape. So it may indeed require a lot of "collateral damage" to defeat him but I just don't think he has the number of loyal troops necessary to follow thru on his threats. The Presidential Guard numbers less than 50,000 and some of them won't stand by him.
