you are delusional if you think polls don't play into his decisions.

By comparison with the previous administration polls play practically no role. While the liberal media would have us believe Karl Rove is running the government, the two authoritative sources of information (Frum's & Woodward's) both indicate that polls play a relatively minor role -- almost as an afterthought.

It is tough for a liberal to understand that Bush isn't driven by polls the way Clinton was. I heard discussion today about how Clinton would be editing his State of the Union speech on the way to the chamber, to adjust for recent polls, while Bush's has been in the can, largely untouched, for a week.
