here's someone named terry who was getting the same error message, and having the same difficulty finding the file.

trouble is, there appear to be no follow ups.

terry's email address is linked, it's old (from 8/01), but you could try it... it's a lead anyway.

i searched my win2000 hd for ns3400.dll with no luck

ns3400.dll is distributed by umax on their vistascan driver disk. Sounds like your umax technical guy was a boob and you should try again. Better yet, try searching the driver disk for it. Could be that the install routine just lost track of where the driver disk was and you needed to point it that way again... not a terribly uncommon problem :P
