Re State of the Union speech :

I was not impressed with the 1st part that dealt with domestic issues. I was optimistic after hearing the 2nd part re Iraq, where the bottom line was Powell would convince folks in a few days.

I thought the stuff about Iraq was a decent summary of why Bush believes military action - not more (and more) negotiations and inspections - is needed. BTW, I agree with him. As for the doubters, nothing will convince them, especially the Bush-is-an-evil-Fascist crowd.

I was also pleased with his mention of the need for "clean" technology and money for hydrogen powered cars. I now know why Ballard and FCEL jumped today. :-)

$15 billion for African AIDS

My initial reaction to this proposal was tempered by the articles I have been reading that the African Governments themselves refuse to fund the programs. If they won't fund them, what are we doing? I think this is Bush's "Missionary" streak showing up.

CB...there will "never be anything good enough to convince the doubters"....until next time.

I know it won't be good enough to convince the doubters.
