Hopefully it is the printer, but I have my doubts. You might ask the techie about the BIOS settings next time. IF you follow good instructions it's easy enough to change those settings back if they don't solve the problem. I remember the girl telling me that HP printers are different in that they use that ECP setting.

...take that cable back too!
