I think LAM is also in IBM who developed Copper and is said to be doing more foundry business. Lam did announce it was taking market share in etch.

We might be seeing the premium for AMAT sucked out a bit while LRCX really doesn't have as much. I don't follow NVLS as closely... and Don's been away so we can't check his excellent tables for P/E and PEG. I do think a price/sales, price/cash and price/book table between the majors would be informative. All should be low on debit to equity. LRCX was running at about break-even. AMAT should lose money if their revenue drops this much.

Big difference. Lam wants to go back to full pay and AMAT is shutting down for two weeks.

Brian,

AMAT is talking about the last three months for which they now have "actuals". Other companies mentioned are talking about "orders" which may or may not become actuals.

AMAT being one of the largest and most diverse equipment suppliers won't see the same protection as a company which gets a disproportionate share of revenues from leading / bleeding edge products.

FWIW,
Ian
