I agree that massive retaliation against Iraq has little benefit in deterring any of the thousands of individual suicide terrorists in the US and other countries. I disagree with your suggestion that U.S. aid and friendship should be curtailed by the actions or statements of a band of thugs. That kind of appeasement only leads to more thuggery. I understand that Perle was killed because he was a Jew. I don't think it would have made a difference to his killers whether or not he were an Israeli, but no way of knowing.
