People are making economic decisions of a life time WRT to home ownership in the face of all this geopolitical excuse making. You can buy and pay less than renting right now and that is all the new home buyer needs to know.

True...it may very well take rising interest rates to kill that beast, steely knives don't seem to be doing the trick!<G> That said, if Shrub's economic plan passes, we may have seen the lows put in both on mortgage rates and they may start moving on up for real...the other trigger is unemployment, and though it's moved up smartly, it'll need to go much further (7.5-8%?) to really cave-in the housing market. It may get there, or a combination of rising rates and rising unemployment may do the trick, 'cause we all know his plan is doomed.
