GT , maybe I expressed myself the wrong way.I should have said the EURO is giving the Dollar a run for the money.
When one thinks how could the USA run a trade deficit of the size they did for the last 5 years or more and the Dollar getting stronger instead of getting weaker, something had to be going on.The whole world accepted uncle Sam's IOU's,hoping to have security in holding that paper.But these IOU's I think reached the saturation point in the world community and when all the people holding these will try to cash them in there will be bedlam in the front office.Now add the curtailment of tourism from oversees because of the political situation,the wholesale transfer of American jobs to China and India, that is bound to have repercussion on the American Currency and that effect cannot be over painted with a victorious Iraq war ( no matter for what reason this war is made)either for very long.
