I can't even imagine what that must have been like. It must be one of those things that only mothers can share. That is touching, indeed. Now get outa here before I start bawling!

Not really. I just don't know what to say, it's so profound.

Do you know that there are seventeen degrees of longitude separating the two of you joined in your daughter?

I like gloopie's answer. ;-)

I'm glad to be here, Dave.
I had the most touching thing happen today. It's my adoptive daughter's birthday. Last night at about eleven, the phone rang and on the line was a woman who could only speak Korean, trying to talk to me. It was my daughter's birth mother. She said "I love you <my daughter's English name> and happy birthday to you" haltingly. We both hung on the line, sighing in frustration for not being able to say much to each other, both crying a little.

I've shared so much with her, this woman I've never met.
