Ted Re...While its great that Poland and the Czech Republic et al support us, they're the cheerleaders, not the player

According to who. You. The Czech republis is already helping in Aghanistan; are either France or Germany.

Secondly, whether the right recognizes it or not, this is a very controversial move on the part of the US.

How so? We didn't have either Germany's or Frances approval before we got into WWII; and France refused to approve the Gulf war, until the last minute. What is so different here. Because you said so.

What 14? I count 8.

Only 8 signed the letter. 14 had committed to Powell to back the US in the UN.

Could be........but I think you underestimate the world wide opposition to this war.

Most people in Europe back the war if the UN does.

You know its never been an issue in my lifetime. Its rare that I have experienced this level of hate towards the US by people outside the US

You haven't been around very long, have you.

The fact that people in Europe are organizing protest letters to send to the UN, that there are anti war marches weekly, and that Blair is getting booed down from the floor of Parliament speak volumes.

Probably the same people who booed Churchill; or are you trying to say the Nieville Chamberlain crowd cheered Winston..
