When the Challenger blew up it was later learned that NASA was aware of the added risk due to cold weather, but chose to launch anyway. For PR reasons.

I truly hope we do not have a similar situation here. If it proves to be a similar situation, NASA should be dissolved and the Air Force should take over the space program.
