The Bush economy could result in stagflation. Here's how. Huge deficits without stimulus = deep recession/unemployment + devalued dollar means higher costs for goods + money shortage means higher interest rates = collapse of real estate market and stock market and then if there's a war in Iraq and Iran - oil prices continue skyward -- I hope not, but possible. I believe Bush and Herbert Hoover will be compared a lot in the future. "prosperity is right around the corner". I dont think the markets have seen their bottoms yet. But they'll hit them during the latter Bush years. Maybe this year.
