You consider that an intelligent response? Did Raymond ever tell you about the time his conspiracy theories were shut down by facts? I didn't think so. Ask him about his Government Secret Document fiasco scam sometime. Raymond is not very intelligent, by the way. But he does own a thesaurus.

OT OT -- This isn't precisely germane to STS-107

FrozenZ,

The madness of our country is quite distressing. For instance, on this thread we have bunch of folks who invoke the fiction of a "God" to try to help them comprehend what is essentially an engineering problem. This is a relatively new phenomenon in the history of our space science. We used to actually prefer to deal in facts and scientific theory and leave the religious stuff to the kooks in back corners of society. As those who are draining the funds from community health facilities are also draining funds from quality education of the masses. These masses are ever more prone to superstitions and false belief systems instead of the rational analysis that is required not only for first rate science, but for the maintenance of "democracy" as well. The dimming down of the general public appears to be a conscious choice made a couple of decades ago by the corporate elite in order to make sure that their economic advantage over the rest of the population becomes a permanent and impenetrable barrier to the old-style American dream. Today, if you want to really prosper in our corporatized nightmare, you have to learn to connive to take manufacturing jobs out of America and send them to China while you send your profits to a subsidiary in a Caribbean tax-haven. The general public is only slowly catching on to the major league screwing they're getting from this rotten system that we've allowed to take over to the detriment of the great preponderance of the citizens of the U.S. But the "born again" zaniness is allowed to fully blossom and destroy what little common sense about the actual condition society is in, replacing clarity of understanding with a bizarre and fictional belief system that conveniently absolves the U.S. from normal moral standards.

I was appalled to find a local evangelical church that refused to let me post an anti-war leaflet on their notice board. Instead of embrace peace, they preferred to attack Iraq. I suggested to the associate pastor that our actions would be immoral, unethical and criminal. We would be killing innocents. His reply? "We'll pray for them." I couldn't believe the cynical level of hypocrisy this so-called Christian was displaying. This whole "God" thing has really gotten out of control.
