Personally I have no idea whether Bush was AWOL or not.
But I do think he is a liar, vastly over-hyping the need to go into Iraq, I think is is owned by big oil and big banks, and that he has put his trust with complete assholes like Rumsfeld for whom war is the only correct answer regardless of the problem or timing.

North Korea, Pakistan, and Saudai Arabia all pose problems far far greater than a two bit hoodlum like Hussein IMO.

This war is about
a) oil
b) revenge
c) the need to take our minds off the economy

No more no less.
Hussein is no credible threat.
North Korea is.
