Well, I'm open to your pointing me to where I have misinterpreted what seems to be a clearly stated letter from those 8 nation.

Or are you merely disagreeing just to be contrarian?? :0)

As to the US withdrawing from the UN, I think the fear is that the US REPLACES the UN with NATO, or some other mechanism for international conflict resolution.

The US is practicing international bounty hunting because the culprit has skipped bail and failed to comply with the terms of his probation.

And we'll likely continue to do so in those cases where we think we:

1.) get away with it politically and militarily..

2.) It is in the US vital interest..

3.) It increases UN leverage over the UN with the goal of reinforcing the values the US originally designed the UN to achieve.

4.).. anything else I think of after I have my coffee.. :0)
