Exactly,

To me it declares we are concerned about ourselves first.

Generally we all benefit with a strong dollar as it imports in relatively cheap products and reduces inflation.

But when the economy gets weak - we have to keep our people working or our government unemployment expense is a complete waste.(not to say it isn't good - it just goes to consumption and not investment or job creation.

The U.S. then becomes the efficient manufacturer and we pump cheap products into foreign countries - this in turn hurts those countries domestic manufacturers.

In fact much of what is wrong with our PC cycle is that Europe and UK have stopped their growth rate.We are the king of cheap computers - I dare say Dell and HPQ called export sales their gravy and it is now gone due to economic declines.

As we become more competitive again the dollar should resume in value. Then I suspect foreign flows of money will be well timed and back in our markets.

One thing that must be noticed is that all stock exchanges have moved in tandem. The idea of diversification in multiple exchanges has been a myth,as far as protection is concerned.

This outflow has been more currency related.IMHO

When we pump Iraq's oil and the price gets back to 22.00 a barrel. The U.S. will once again be an engine revving up and foreign investment money will flow and fuel a nice Rally.

Iraq must be resloved and Al Quaeda must continue to hide in (from) the bushes - pun intended.gg
