I've heard of the gendercide in India. Apparently some men in India like the idea of choice also. If their wife fails to produce a son or they get tired of them, they just kill them. * * *

Contrary to what you say, the woman almost always has no say in the matter. The issue is not one of banning abortion or sex determination by ultrasound, for if they were outlawed, then those folks would indulge in infanticide :-( I have read some really gruesome reports about female infanticide in one of the states in India. It cracks me up to see right-wing folks here pretending to be experts on other countries. Which is not surprising at all, since their "great" leader had hardly gone out of this country prior to the year 2000, and could not even locate India or China on a world map!
