It's an awful situation.
And I can't say it's any more or less terrible than the situation in China and Korea prior to the advent of well-organized international adoption, when girl babies were regularly abandoned and left to die of exposure.

I spoke to an Indian immigrant to the US the other day. He said the current ratio is 100 boy babies born for every 90 girl babies born in India. This will drastically change the social and cultural dynamics of India in 20 years, if the trend continues. China is worse and this is just the beginning.

When I look at attitudes among the very young these days, I am made aware of an increasing insensitivity to violence. With over population, and too many young men with no way to express their natural urgings, I am starting to think we will see levels of violence never before imagined. Not a prophesy, just a wild guess.
