LOL! Actually, I thought of that at the time: If Clinton had been impeached and convicted, Gore would have ran as a sitting President which would have improved his chances of winning.

Now some Dem is going to pop up and tell us he won anyway.

Of course, Gore could have shot Clinton. In which case he would have been a national hero and won. :-)
