The US has committed itself to defending the independence of Kuwait and the other small Persian Gulf nations. We fought a war over this and station troops in the area - Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar (which presence by the way was Osama bin Ladin's number one problem with the US). During the Iran-Iraq war, we reflagged Kuwaiti oil tankers and defending the transit of oil through the Persian Gulf.

Do you have a problem with this policy of defending the Gulf?

Because if we continue this policy, we're certainly going to have another showdown with this foreign monster in the future after he's developed nuclear weapons.
