>> Paranoia is their aim, don't buy in.<<

You may have started posting on the thread after I described our (my really) precautions - a weeks' worth of food and water, flashlights, candles, batteries, battery operated radio, gas masks (for dirty bombs and biologicals, won't work on nerve gas), antibiotics (for anthrax), Rad-block (for dirty bombs or even nuclear bombs). Camp stove and fuel for it. Extra duct tape to tape up windows and such in the event of a nuclear or dirty bomb.

I try to keep extra cat and dog food and the gas tank filled but this tends to slip my mind until I start seeing warnings in the media again. No trouble at all to gas up and buy an extra bag of dog food and cat food.

We live about 15 miles from the Pentagon, and not much further from the White House and Capitol, so I don't think I am being paranoid, just cautious. Maybe excessivly cautious, but not paranoid.

My husband works half a mile from the Pentagon, and he used to laugh at me when I asked him to keep his gas mask in his car trunk, but he does it. It would prevent him from inhaling radioactive dust in the event of a nuclear or dirty bomb.

I know people who have bomb shelters and enough food for a year, so I feel relatively unparanoid, considering.

You know, I really like ketchup and I wish everyone would stop talking this way about it.
