CB,

Nothing wrong with being prepared. Paranoia starts when people start to share their darkest fears as if they were real. The truth is that we have no idea what the next attack might look like.

CB, there's the story about the Three Little Pigs. It's easy to snicker at the practical pig when things are going well. But when things go bad, it's quite nice to have all those things at the ready.

Being prepared for all sorts of eventualities, if you can afford it, is a very good idea.

I agreed that ricin is an excellent means of attack. I wasn't disagreeing. I was having a laugh at the older battle of the sexes, not the AlQ threat. I minimize the prospects for Al Qaeda to get me, provided the cost is relatively low. I think the cheapest option is to drain the swamp. With all these crocodiles around, it's hard to remember that's what we need to do.

The up-front cost of swamp draining is higher than containment, which obviously doesn't work as shown by 911 and other attacks, but once done, swamp draining is permanent. Children can then go and play safely where crocodiles once roamed freely.

Thinking of which, did you let your children go and play where they liked. I guess not. We have predators roaming our streets too, hunting children. That's another kind of crocodile which is worse than AlQ. They are a permanent terrorist threat which anglophone communities seem to accept. There's something to be said for a bit of Sharia Law if you ask me.
