Actually, the strictly economic news , and company-specific news, has been quite good, through this earnings season. It amazes me, no matter how many times I watch it happening, that the prevailing mood is so much more important than the facts. When the unemployment numbers came out, with the big unexpected drop to 5.7%, I almost covered my shorts. But nothing happened. Weird. Nothing can make stocks go up.

Sarmad, Shortin' AMAT is on hold for me for at the moment, but I still like that WDC of yours (long) and am considerin' makin' a play or two - probably a swing trade like before (only a little larger in size) coupled with initiating a long term position (somethin' ta build on). I would be interested in hearin' your thoughts about timin' an entry - Monday open? Next week? Price point? Never again in my lifetime? <g> Seriously, your opinion would be appreciated. (yeah, I know, it's kinda tough ta predict anything in this environment, but I promise I won't hold ya to it! <g>).
