Howdy, LB. I consider the impending campaign against Iraq to be but one battle in a larger, DEFENSIVE war against Al Qaeda and the Islamist threat. A war which is defensive is “proper means”, and would go along with Gandhi’s maxims.

My post was meant to point out the horror of coercing Palestinian children to become a generation of terrorists, to live to kill and to be killed. What society can they possibly build by using such means?

I used the entire quotation relating to goals and means. I think this is a very valid philosophical issue – indeed, to a large extent the means WILL determine the goals.

If hot-headed peaceniks will choose to misinterpret Gandhi in order to make him fit their (usually) poorly thought through slogans – there is nothing I can do about it.
