Beer, cold meats, chocolates and above all fruits and veggie are becoming victims of mega-mania, some cases globalization. N. America hardly can observe this process as the trend became wide spread long time ago, European Union morons started so called standards not so long ago and the tastes becoming things of the past. At least when it comes to apples and other fruits US have few dedicated farmers who are preserving the varietes of the past. Generally speaking N. American beers taste like a camel piss according to the Canadian geologist who got lost in Sahara desert and was rescued by Germans.
