Another one dimensional thought-cliché. Ask Vaclav Havel or Lech Walesa what the Cold War was about....

<< You think the cold war was about freedom? It was about power, and fear. >>

You keep every issue on a personal level, looking for plots, subplots, coverups and conspiracies.

Look at the results of America's efforts to keep Russian imperialism, and expansionism, held at bay, during the cold war.

Unfortunately, America couldn't be all things to all people. The countries, bordering Russia, suffered through very repressive Communist Russian puppet regimes. Ask those countries, who are now standing in line to be America's ally, if they felt that America's cold war, to free them, was a selfish American act.

Ask the peoples of Poland, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, etc. if they cherished the brutal Russian occupation of their countries. Thank God for America, right?

America's cold war WAS about power. The power of the people to live free in a democracy. And, the results..... freedom and democracy throughout Europe, speaks for itself.

Don't let history, and the real world, cloud your myopic view.

I am always confused about people, like you, who are members of the "bash America first" club. To you America has done no good.

If you are that principled, and against America, why not move to a country that fits your standards?
