The Ostrich Theory of Investing to another level seems to be a shared phenomena. Perhaps this is exactly what Stee Lee believes you should do with Shorts or Mish suggests with leap puts; regardless, why anyone would expect that anyone else would listen to them is foolish. Whats the point of trying to convince someone they should change their mind, especially since there are specific issues with every portfolio. I for one wont speak specifics about portfolio, buy man I like EBAY. That who ever is making the decisions about individual stocks must do their own dd, and include the market backdrop as a portion of the decision. There is no one grand scheme to guarantee investor success. I am rearranging a few positions because of the market backdrop. Prices look very good to me in some key areas, I have a plan for each stock, in some the plan is in year 3 of 5. For me the end game is 2 years out, so I am very comfortable just taking my chips and accepting that the Volatility of the next two years, at plans end will place me at or near where I forecasted. This market has created trading ranges for stocks; knowing this presents it's own opportunity.Ebay at 55 would be nice so please go do your work I have no argument Against the claims about being in a Bear market, why should I care, I am not invested in indexes just stocks, options none. Stalking what your side gives me has been fun.
